Derrick Gaetke

Derrick Gaetke was raised in a Pentecostal (Assembly of God) church in a small town in central Wisconsin, where he accepted Christ at a young age. While his heart had always felt a pull towards ministry, he instead pursued an education in Musical Theater, and moved to Chicago in 2008 to see if he could make it in “the biz”.

But life is a journey, and it soon became clear that God was paving a different road then he’d originally envisioned. Derrick found himself serving more and more in the churches he attended, from volunteer lawn mower to Small Group Leader to, now, an Elder. He and his wife Anna (also a Musical Theater major) have been attending and serving at Church of the Beloved since October 2016, and they are excited to see God continue to move and surprise them in this blessed community.

Outside of church or chasing his son Amadeus around, Derrick enjoys reading, movies, painting and playing his (probably unhealthily large) collection of board games, and, when possible, traveling with his family.
