 Core Values

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. (1 John 3:16 NIV)

Meet Our Staff

Pastor Daniel and Lydia have been serving in ministry together since 2003. Lydia is native to the Seattle area and Daniel moved from his hometown of New York in 2001. He graduated from Wheaton College and Gordon-Conwell seminary. They have two boys and together they love living in and enjoying the Pacific Northwest. One of their favorite hobbies is hiking and experiencing the beauty of God's creation. Their greatest passion is Jesus and the good news of His amazing grace. The message is simple. Regardless of who you are, where you've been and where you are now, you are BELOVED by God, because of Christ alone. The hope of this church is to be a community of people living out and proclaiming this beautiful message of Christ's grace.

Nathan was born in the city of Renton and has continued to live all around the Puget Sound area. It was while serving in the youth ministry as a college student that Nathan sensed God’s calling to serve His people in His church. Today, Nathan desires to share the love and grace of the Gospel and help people to integrate their faith in their everyday lives. In his spare time, he enjoys watching boxing, taking naps, and drinking a good cup of coffee with his wife, Diane.

Born in Indonesia and raised in the Midwest, Andrea moved to the Seattle area in July 2017 to follow God's calling in her life to full-time ministry. She felt led to vocational ministry after experiencing the power of God in her own life when she was a teenager. With passions both in music and children's ministry, God led her to pursue higher education in both arenas at Wheaton College (IL) and University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in preparation for His plans. Andrea is excited to collaborate these passions together to serve God's people and His church. It was through her experience as a piano teacher that she realized her passion for children and their families. She desires for children to know and believe that they are truly loved by God and live their callings as disciples of Christ. In her spare time, Andrea can be found playing at a piano or deep in conversation with friends over a meal.

LIFE GROUPS is the small group ministry of Church of the Beloved. It exists to be a place where gospel-centered communities can grow and flourish. We want it to be a “room of grace” where you can come as you are, regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey. We want it to be a place where anyone and everyone can come to explore and experience the love of Christ in community. LIFE GROUPS meet bi-weekly from September to May in different host homes. There are seven Life Groups throughout the Puget Sound.

We are passionate about and committed to serving and loving our local and global communities through missions and outreach work. We will update you here on the exciting things we are doing, and ministries we are partnering with.

REACH (Renton Meal Coalition)

REACH Renton is a coalition of churches in Renton that work together to serve and love the homeless and the poor in our city. We have worked alongside them in various ways, including serving dinner on select Saturdays through the Meal Coalition. During these times, we get to serve anywhere between 40-60 people from our community who are in need of a hot meal.

Love Renton

Love Renton is our annual day of service to love our community with the love of Christ. Towards the end of every August, we commit a Sunday to simply serve and love our city. In the two years we have done this so far, we have provided such free services as dental services through Medical Teams International, laundry service, professional haircuts, professional photos and family portraits, as well as give out school supplies, clothes and toys.

Birthday Dreams

Birthday Dreams is a non-profit organization that hosts birthday parties for homeless children throughout the Seattle area. One of the co- founders of this organization is a member of our church and we partner with them a few times a year at Hope Place (Union Gospel Mission), to make birthday wishes come true!

Living Water

Living Water is a ministry that builds clean water wells throughout the poorest areas of our global community. Every Christmas season, we participate in the Advent Conspiracy and dedicate the entire offering on a select Sunday to sponsor wells. Since our launch, we have sponsored four wells in India. We will continue to partner with this incredible organization through sponsorship of wells, and in the near future, send mission teams to help build wells.

East Asia

We are partnering with our Northwest Baptist Convention in focusing our global mission efforts to East Asia. We sent our first mission team this past summer to serve the local IMB missionaries and their families, who are tirelessly serving to bring the gospel to the lost. This fall, our pastors went on a vision trip to East Asia to prayerfully consider the specific region and missionaries we are to partner with and invest in long term. We are excited about how God may be leading us and using us for the spread of the gospel to the “ends of the earth!”

Mission Support

Since the spring of 2016, we have committed ourselves to donating $1000 every month to various ministries, missionaries and non-profit organizations that are working for the Kingdom of God, based on nominations by our members. For a full list of all the ministries we have supported, check out our Facebook page!

Beloved Kids is our ministry for children. We've created an exciting and fun environment for our kids to learn about the Bible and Jesus Christ. First, stop by the Check In Station, where a friendly volunteer will be there to welcome you and help you check in your child. You can then drop off your child at the gym. We'll begin with a time of exciting praise and a short teaching on the lesson of the week. We then separate into five classes, where they continue to learn through various activities, crafts and games.

The five classes are:

Lil Lamb 2-3 years old
Cool Cubs 4-5 years old
Super Seals K-1st grade
Happy Hippo 2nd-4th grade
Loyal Lions 2nd-4th grade

Beloved Youth is our ministry geared towards Middle and High School students. Currently, we have a Middle School Bible Study on Sundays and High Schoolers join the adults for their worship service. As more students join us, we plan on offering a mid-week program to meet the needs of our students.

We exist to see the Gospel transform our students into Spirit-filled disciples; who know they are the beloved of God, because of Christ alone. The goal of our ministry is to develop mature believers in Christ who are fully incorporated into the life of the church. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Nathan.
